The property has a rich history with the original farm buildings (now the Peacock & Kingfisher rooms), dating back to the early 1900’s. Geographically it forms part of the 2.4 million year old Ventersdorp lava flow system and has some excellent examples of volcanic dolomite rock. As a tributary of the great Vaal River, the Mooi River, running through the property, is rich in alluvial diamond deposits. The gardens are a bird watchers paradise with some rare species to be spotted.
