Witklipfontein is one of the original farms of The Vredefort Dome, a Unesco World Heritage site. The Huyberechts Family acquired the property in 2013 driven by their dream for a farm in Africa and a desire of going back to nature and the essentials of life. Since then they have worked tirelessly at adding to this Eden of nature a generous vegetable garden and a decent house for the workers that served as prototype for the Lodge. With 215 hectare of diverse scenery of plains, hills, a kloof, a spruit and dams, the farm is of breath-taking beauty and tranquillity instilling a sense of peace and wellbeing.The place lives and changes to the rhythm of the seasons. The life abundant green summer with its occasional welcoming rain contrasts with the dry and yellow winter, its stark light and crisp temperatures. The accommodation is a contemporary villa that caters for up to 10 guests. It is nested on the game farm with the wild animals roaming free around the house. The architecture allows a total connection with the surrounding nature with its high ceilings and fully openable windows. The experience of the farm includes an access to our permaculture vegetable garden, fresh farm eggs from our chickens, interactions with the goats and horses and of course hiking on the territory of our giraffes, zebras, various antelopes, warthogs, and other human friendly animals.
