Just a few days ago we wrote an article on the importance to care for our elerly, and how many requires the support of our community, it was thus enlightening to witness Operation Compassion Welfare Society of Potchefstroom, and their drive to gain support from the local community to offer support to our parents, fathers, mothers and loving grandparents of yesteryear.
Small Gesture, Great Impact
The collection project, focusing on toiletries and non-perishable food for a local nursing home, signifies more than just gathering essential items. It symbolizes the community's commitment to ensuring that every individual, especially the often-overlooked elderly residents, feels valued and cared for.
Essentials on the List
A comprehensive list of items has been curated to ensure the residents of the nursing home have all their basic needs met. This includes toiletries such as:
Toothpaste
Creams (especially those suited for sensitive, aging skin)
Shampoo
Soap
General toiletries
Washing Powder
Residents can also donate non-perishable food items.
How to Contribute
Residents, businesses, and even tourists passing through Potchefstroom are encouraged to drop off their contributions at Pick ń Pay in Van der Hoffpark on Saturday the 26th of August between 08:00 to 12:00, they can also get in touch with Justin 0m 083-259-3648. Monetary donations are also welcome.
