A Passion for Culture and People
Kwame’s love for travel and culture drives much of his vision. He believes that culture is what gives people a true sense of identity. As he says, "Culture gives us a true definition of who we are!" His passion for exploring the world’s beauty and learning about different cultures shapes his approach to making Ferdies an even more inclusive and connected school.🏫
Kwame is also well known for being a "people's person." He loves engaging with others, always ready for a chat, and his extroverted nature means that conversations with him are never dull.🧑🤝🧑 Affectionately called "The Yapper," Kwame has the gift of keeping discussions lively, ensuring that everyone is involved and feels heard.
Building Cultural Understanding at Ferdies
Kwame’s vision for Ferdies centers around deepening cultural understanding. Although Ferdies is a tight-knit community, he feels there’s still more room to explore and appreciate the diverse backgrounds within the school.🏫 His goal as Culture Executive is to ensure that every Ferdie has the necessary knowledge to understand and celebrate the different cultures that make up their community.
"I want to make sure that we all, as part of the Ferdie community, have the necessary knowledge and understanding of each other’s cultures," Kwame says. He believes this will strengthen the bond between students and create a more unified school environment.👨🏻🎓
Plans for the Future
Kwame’s main focus for next year is increasing cultural participation, especially among Grade 8 learners. He believes that by getting them involved early, Ferdies can create a lasting cultural revolution within the school.💙🤍His vision is to create a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued, laying the foundation for a more inclusive environment that celebrates diversity from the ground up.
