Alumni in the Spotlight In a recent announcement, an outstanding nine alumni from North-West University (NWU) have been chosen to showcase their talents on the global sports arena. These esteemed graduates have been selected to represent Namibia in the upcoming Rugby World Cup, with a much-anticipated match against Italy just around the corner.
Great Names, Great Players
Notable Names The team includes the likes of former Springbok and English assistant coach, Matt Proudfoot. But the notable names don't stop there. The team's captain and center, Johan Deysel, has already made a significant impact on the sports world.
Other prominent alumni include Wian Conradie, taking on the role of flanker, and the fiercely determined hooker, Louis “Chucky” van der Westhuizen. Both had their academic foundations laid on the Potchefstroom Campus of NWU.
Completing this formidable list, Aranos Coetzee, Haitembu Shifuka, Johan Retief, André van der Berg, and Danco Burger continue to uphold and elevate the prestigious name of NWU in the sports domain.
