Run for Those Who Can't
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, Potchefstroom will join runners from across the globe in the Red Bull Wings for Life World Run. This isn't just any run—it’s a movement with purpose. Every stride taken contributes to spinal cord injury research, with 100% of entry fees going directly towards finding a cure. So, it’s not just about hitting a personal best; it's about making a real difference.
How It Works
This race has no set finish line. Instead, runners set off at the same time worldwide, and their race ends when the virtual Red Bull Mini—also known as the ‘Catcher Car’—catches up with them. The longer you last, the further you run. There’s no pressure to be an ultra-athlete; you set your own pace, whether you're a seasoned marathoner or just out for a jog with friends.
What You Get
For R220, runners receive an official event T-shirt and the chance to be part of something much bigger than a local fun run. Participants also get access to the Wings for Life app, which tracks their progress and connects them with other runners worldwide. The event is about unity, endurance, and, most importantly, supporting those who can’t run themselves.
Join Team Potch
Potchefstroom’s running community is stepping up, and there's an open invitation for all to join. Whether you're running solo or rallying a crew, you can sign up and be part of Team Potch on the app. The more, the merrier!
How to Register
Signing up is simple. Head over to Wings For Life World Run and secure your spot. Once registered, you can connect with fellow Potch runners through the app and get ready to take on the chase.
Lace up those running shoes and get ready to hit the road—because every step counts!
