Unlock Renovations is hosting this leafy affair, and they’re calling on all of us to help green up the town. Whether you’re going solo, dragging the family along, or roping in your business crew, it’s your chance to get those hands dirty for a good cause.

What's Happening?
On Tree Planting Day, the mission is simple: get some indigenous trees in the ground. You can bring your own sapling or sponsor a tree (because who doesn’t like delegating?). At R350 a pop, your sponsored tree will be delivered straight to the planting site. You’ll also get an invoice—no dodgy business here, just proper paperwork.
Don’t stress if you’re late to the game. As long as you arrange payment before the trees are procured (which happens three days before the big day), you’re golden. And yes, frost-resistant and indigenous trees only, please. This isn’t the time for your imported bonsai obsession.
What You’ll Need
While Unlock’s team will have some equipment on hand, a little extra help never hurt anyone. Bring along some basic essentials:
A 5L bottle of tap water (for you, the tree, or both)
A shovel (or grab one of theirs)
Maybe a pick axe, if you’re feeling hardcore
No green thumb? No worries. They’ll guide you through it, and your sapling will be in good hands (well, in the soil, actually).
How Do I Join?
Easy. Just register on their Smartsheet form here, choose whether you’re bringing your own tree or sponsoring one, and let them know how many you’ll be sponsoring. Then, just show up ready to plant.
