Description:
Learn river skills and safety from the master who launched rafting in South Africa. Prof Graeme Addison is the course convenor with supporting instructors. Completing this course gets you to assessment for the technical proficiency certificate, River Guide. It leads on to full legal guiding.

The course is held over four days, with two nights spent camping on river expedition-style. No previous experience is needed. Anyone over 16 may attend including working guides, club members and safety officers, recreational paddlers, and operations personnel. Addison's book WHITEWATER RAFTING TECHNIQUES & EQUIPMENT is available at a discount. There are discounts for groups and for individual working guides. The course has run with steady additions to skills over the years, from the 1990s and has trained scores of paddlers
