Prior teaching experience, particularly in a preschool or primary school setting, is essential.
A valid teaching qualification or registration with a relevant professional body, such as the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
Duties Include:
The role:
We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about education and creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and excel academically. The successful candidate will work with children from the ages of 6 – 14 years.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum: Create engaging literacy activities and lessons for reading and homework support.
Resource Management: Oversee and organise literacy materials, books, digital tools, and programs.
Homework Support: Develop strategies for effective homework assistance, focusing on comprehension.
Volunteers: Train and provide ongoing coaching/support to volunteers and staff on best practices for literacy and program activities.
Reporting: Report on program effectiveness to management, parents, and donors.
School Liaison: Collaborate with school staff to align efforts and share resources.
Liaising with Social Worker: Provide holistic support for children's development, health, and well-being.
Admin: Responsible for administrative duties aligned with program requirements.
Holiday Program: Organise and manage holiday day program activities.

Salary: R10 000 – R15 000 (based on experience and qualifications)
