Bafenyi Trust is a registered Non-Profit Organisation based in Promosa, Potchefstroom, with a vision to help people win regardless of their circumstances. We serve 1000 beneficiaries per week with a meal, life skills training, biblical teachings, and educational support.

The role:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Assistant Cook to support the preparation and serving of nutritious meals for the organisation's beneficiaries. The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, cooking, serving meals, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring that food is handled and stored safely. The Assistant Cook will work closely with the Cook to ensure meals are prepared on time, kitchen equipment is kept clean, and the kitchen operates efficiently while supporting the mission and values of the organisation.

Responsibilities:
Assist the Cook with the preparation and cooking of meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements.

Serve meals to beneficiaries, staff, and visitors.

Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and food preparation areas before, during, and after use.

Ensure food is handled, prepared, and stored in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.

Assist with receiving, checking, storing, and rotating food supplies and stock.

Monitor and report low stock levels and damaged or expired food items.

Clean and maintain offices, communal areas and general facilities.

Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Cook or supervisor to support the effective operation of the organisation.
