Desired Experience & Qualification
3–5+ years’ experience in a Senior NOC, Network Engineering, or similar technical role, with proven leadership in major incident response.
Strong hands-on experience with IP networking, including advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
In-depth understanding of Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms and traffic engineering.
Solid knowledge of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and DDoS mitigation techniques.
Proficiency in multi-vendor network environments, with experience on platforms such as RouterOS, JunOS, EOS or similar.
Advanced troubleshooting skills using packet analysis and flow monitoring tools (e.g. Wireshark, tcpdump, NetFlow/IPFIX).
Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams during high-pressure incident scenarios.
Strong documentation and reporting skills, with experience authoring Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and technical standards.
Relevant Degree or Diploma in IT, Networking, or a related field.

Duties Include:
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and manage major network incidents (P1/P2) as the designated Incident Commander until full service restoration.
Coordinate technical response teams, assign tasks, and manage internal and external communication during incidents.
Perform advanced fault diagnosis across routing, peering, quality of service, optical and security environments.
Approve and execute high-risk recovery actions in line with change and risk management processes.
Conduct and author detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for major incidents.
Identify recurring problems, systemic failures, and technical risks within the network.
Define, track, and ensure completion of corrective and preventative actions.
Analyse incident trends and recommend long-term engineering improvements.
Design, review, and approve complex network changes and migrations.
Ensure compliance with network architecture standards, configuration baselines, and governance policies.
Ensure all changes include testing plans, rollback procedures, and post-implementation validation.
Design and maintain high-availability and resilient network architectures.
Define and maintain network performance targets, service levels, and quality indicators.
Monitor network performance and optimise alerting and monitoring thresholds.
Contribute to capacity planning and recommend infrastructure upgrades.
Provide technical oversight on complex operational and field support activities.
Set and enforce quality control and workmanship standards.
