Resource Geologist
Experience Needed:
Bsc Honours in Geology.
5 years+ of experience as a Resource Geologist, preferably in underground mining operations.
Strong knowledge of geological software and resource modelling techniques (e.g Datamine or Surpac)
Professional membership: GSSA and Pr. Sci Nat SACNASP.
Experience with geological mapping, drilling, and resource estimation.
Requirements:
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Familiarity with mining standards and regulations.
Excellent communication and report -writing skills.
Ability to work in challenging underground conditions and a focus on safety.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Duties Include:
Resource Estimation: Estimate the size, grade and quality of mineral deposits based on geological data, drilling results and sampling.
Exploration and Drilling Support: Assist with exploration programs and underground drilling campaigns to expand the understanding of the resource base.
Data interpretation and reporting: Analyze geological data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports that align with industry standards.
Collaborate with Mine Planning: work closely with the Mine Planning and Development teams to ensure optimal resource extraction and design.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all geological work is conducted in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Environmental Impact Assessment: Participate in environmental impact assessment related to mining operations and resource extraction.
Underground Geological Mapping: Conduct geological mapping and data collection in underground work
