Provide Rock Engineering expertise on the mine by offering technical support to the Mining department. Implement appropriate Rock Engineering measurements and planning systems. Identify, review and make recommendations to management regarding systems, procedures and techniques to reduce or eliminate potential hazards. Initiate and manage research projects and investigations. Support the investigation of Rock Engineering related incidents and accidents and advise on the rectification solution. Provide Mine designs and mining optimization service and solutions to Rock Engineering problems with the purpose of maximising safety, profitability with the designated area of responsibility. Design and develop safe and efficient excavation and support systems (e.g., rock bolts, mesh, shotcrete) based on geological conditions and engineering principles. Provide input into the design of underground mining layouts, including the design of tunnels, and other structures. Assess and mitigate risks related to ground stability, seismicity, and rockburst potential. Develop and implement ground control strategies to prevent rockfalls, collapses, and other geotechnical hazards. Monitor the effectiveness of ground support systems and implement corrective measures as needed. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, including the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
