COX Energy, centers its activity on engineering, construction and maintenance of electricity generation plants, as well as electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation infrastructures for the energy, industry, transportation and service sectors.



We are looking for a Medium Voltage Technician to join our Construction team for one of our projects located in Klerksdorp, South Africa.



The electrician will be engaged exclusively in Medium Voltage commissioning, testing, energisation and operational activities. No construction, installation or civil related activities are included in the scope.

Technical Responsibilities



Execution of pre-energisation checks on MV systems.
Commissioning of MV switchgear, transformers and MV feeders.
Functional testing of interlocks, protections and control circuits.
Support during MV energisation, synchronisation and load transfer.
Execution and witnessing of MV tests, including:
Insulation resistance (IR)
Continuity and bonding
Cable sheath testing
VLF testing where required
Verification of earthing system integrity prior to energisation.
Participation in operational switching, isolation and restoration activities.
Operation of MV equipment under Permit to Work and LOTO systems.
Accurate completion of commissioning records and test documentation.
