Description
Requirements
Matric / Grade 12 Certificate.
Experience or training with fire suppression or fire protection systems is a strong advantage.
Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude with experience using power and hand tools.
Previous work on vehicles, machinery, or mechanical repair environments is beneficial.
Physically fit and able to work in mining environments, including surface and underground areas (if required by site).
Valid driver’s licence.

Competencies

Comfortable using mobile devices and digital reporting tools.
Fluent in English; Afrikaans proficiency is an advantage.
Willingness to learn and develop within the fire suppression field.
Duties Include:

Job Description
Carry out inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems across various mining sites.
Work on multiple system brands (Ansul, Dafo, Firematic or equivalent), ensuring all work meets OEM standards and legal requirements.
Conduct monthly inspections and testing in line with Mine Health and Safety Act requirements and site procedures.
Perform fault-finding and troubleshooting on suppression systems, electrical components, and mechanical parts.
Complete detailed job cards, service reports, inspection sheets, and safety documentation accurately.
Maintain service vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
Follow daily schedules and work assignments provided by the Service Coordinator or Site Manager.
Engage with clients and operators on-site, providing clear feedback and system-use guidance when required.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety rules, including permit requirements, lockout procedures, and site-specific instructions.
Support installation teams when required, including system commissioning and functional testing.
