Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Spatial Planning, Development and Implementation

Experience Needed:

Desirable criteria: Registration as a Professional Planner at SACPLAN or similar international professional boards. Student supervision and mentoring experience


Minimum criteria: A PhD degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a related field. Strong written and oral communication skills, with a minimum of 3 ISI-rated publications in the relevant discipline and presentations at national and international conferences. Ability to work independently and participate within the team to reach specific goals. Valid driver’s license.

Duties Include:

Key responsibilities: Perform research and analyses in support of the Subprogramme members in various fields of spatial planning. Lead author of at least three annual papers published in internationally accredited peer-reviewed journals. Assist in capacity development at the NWU through active interaction, co-supervision and collaboration with post-graduate students and interns.
