Description

3+ years of experience in fleet operations, vehicle leasing, or quality control within a car rental or transport company. Experience in the e-hailing industry is a plus.
Strong understanding of fleet management processes, KPIs, and quality assurance.
Familiarity with South African transport and e-hailing industry regulations (e.g., permits, driver licensing, operating licensing, vehicle standards).

Duties & Responsibilities
Hakki Africa is seeking a Fleet Operation Specialist to join our growing team in South Africa. This role is ideal for an professional who has experiences in operations within a car rental, leasing, or fleet management company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and evaluating the performance of our partner fleet management company, ensuring high operational quality, efficiency, and compliance with Hakki Africa’s standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring reliable vehicle operations and supporting our mission to empower Bolt/ e-hailing drivers through financial inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner Management & Quality Control
Serve as the primary liaison between Hakki Africa and the partner fleet management company.
Monitor partner performance against contractual SLAs and operational KPIs.
Conduct regular quality control checks on vehicle maintenance, driver management, rental fee collections and service standards.
Identify gaps or inefficiencies and propose actionable improvements to enhance operational performance.
Review partner reports and provide analytical insights to the Country Manager.
Justify and verify maintenance-related expenses to ensure they are reasonable, properly documented, and aligned with company policy.
Getting feedback from drivers, and direct fleet partners to improve onboarding process quality.
Fleet Oversight & Compliance
Track vehicle utilization, downtime, maintenance costs, and insurance claims.
Actively monitor vehicle activity through the Bolt portal and tracking systems to ensure timely detection of irregular activity.
Implement a routine vehicle inspection program (e.g monthly) in coordination with the fleet management partner to detect vandalism, maintenance issues, or misuse early.
Establish a process for driver accountability, ensuring that any damage, misuse, or late reporting is documented and addressed immediately.
Ensure data accuracy across fleet, accounting, and insurance systems.
Support audits and internal reviews related to fleet operations.
Stay up to date with South African transport and e-hailing industry regulations, ensuring that all operations comply with applicable laws and permit requirements.
Liaise with relevant authorities or industry bodies as needed.
