Minimum N6 mechanical engineering qualification.
Successful completion of fitter trade test.
Minimum 5 years’ relevant and proven experience as a fitter.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Must have initiative and problem-solving ability.
Knowledge of applicable health and safety procedures and protocols.

Be able to work in normal shifts (and overtime if so required).
Driver’s licence.
Willing and able to work at different sites.
Duties Include:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Setting up a specific and approved maintenance schedule for all maintenance sites and equipment.
Must have experience in pump maintenance and repairs including stripping, changing of bearings, pump packings, mechanical seals, bearings and pump assembly.
Experienced in removing and refitting motors, conveyors including alignment thereof, valves, compressors, pneumatic cylinders, and hydraulics etc.
Skilled in troubleshooting and fault-finding.
Knowledge of boiler making and welding essentials.
Knowledge of operating conventional lathe machine would be advantageous.
Arranging for parts to be available timeously to carry out preventative maintenance routines.
Managing and maintaining the parts stores and tool sheds.
Providing recommendations to improve the equipment up time.
