Our client, a leading mining company, is seeking an experienced Winder Electrician to join their underground engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of general and specialist winder and associated installation maintenance, repairs and project work, ensuring safe and optimal Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Duration: 12-Month Contract, with potential to go Permanent

Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure personal and team safety by applying relevant standards and procedures in all planning and execution of maintenance activities
Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act, particularly Chapter 16 - Winding Plant
Maintain the highest levels of safety and contribute to a zero-harm culture
Ensure that condition monitoring of equipment, scheduled and planned maintenance are conducted effectively
Respond to breakdowns timeously, perform fault-finding and root-cause analysis
Repairing equipment and assist with new installations and expansions
Maintain and repair winder control systems and electrical systems
Maintain compressor, shaft, and shaft station control systems
Perform MV switching and preventative maintenance in line with standards and procedures
Update electrical documentation including drawings, datasheets and equipment records
Make expert judgment on whether to repair, replace, or upgrade components
Execute scheduled, planned, and breakdown maintenance on winders and associated equipment
Perform all activities according to instructions, procedures and engineering needs
Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure
Create and maintain job cards on the system
