Duties Include:
Management and interaction responsibilities
Conducted detailed site assessments on the hot water systems at clients to understand the current problems and to formulate a solution.
Detailed understanding of hot water system configurations and operations to identify faults and propose corrections to be made, along with the implementation of energy-efficient solutions.
In-depth knowledge of energy-efficient heat pump and solar collector technology and the operations thereof to advise clients correctly on system improvements. Additionally, to perform fault-finding as required.
Follow a structured sales process to effectively conclude sales with new customers or expand opportunities with existing customers.
Along with the Business Unit Manager, develop key and strategic customer relationships.
Continuous growth of the sales funnel and an effective close-out rate.
Have a meeting with the Business Unit Manager at least once every two weeks to review progress and key focus areas for the coming weeks.
Attend a monthly sales meeting coordinated by the CEO to give structured feedback and strategise.
Coordinate with marketing staff within M-Tech in terms of marketing material and other items, as required.
Advise the engineering development team on value-added product modifications and improvements to meet customer needs.
Along with the Business Unit Manager and the CEO, develop or refine the sales strategy based on market feedback.
Assist with the continuous improvement of the costing and proposal templates used in the Business Unit.
Expand M-Tech’s heat pump business opportunities
Identify and pursue potential clients for turnkey heat pump hot water solutions, presenting M-Tech’s offering in terms of design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and customer support, as identified in the Business Unit's strategy implementation plan.
Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine customer requirements.
Develop proposals for clients, including the detailed project costing, and present them in collaboration with the Business Unit Manager.
Follow up with clients regularly to track the progress and secure the order.
Negotiate Maintenance and Support contracts with clients to broaden M-Tech’s offering, where applicable.
Should other opportunities not form part of the mining focus, the sales engineer should inform the Business Unit Manager to decide whether the opportunity should receive the necessary attention and by whom.
