Purpose of the role
MPAMOT Africa seeks to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to lead and manage the structural engineering components of complex, multidisciplinary projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical excellence, leadership maturity, and the ability to deliver innovative and sustainable design solutions from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead structural design and project delivery across a range of infrastructure and building projects, working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Apply a sound understanding of structural behaviour to develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs in compliance with SANS and other applicable design codes.
Undertake and review design calculations, computer modelling, and digital workflows using software such as Robot, Revit, Prokon, and AutoCAD, with strong appreciation for BIM methodologies.
Ensure all work adheres to company quality systems, national standards, and best practice in Quality Assurance and Health & Safety.
Provide technical leadership, checking and approving the work of others, ensuring technical accuracy and integrity across all deliverables.
Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports, proposals, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Support Project Managers in achieving time, budget, and quality targets while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Mentor and coach junior engineers, promoting continuous learning, professional growth, and knowledge transfer within the team.
Contribute actively to MPAMOT’s digital engineering transformation, sustainability goals, and interdisciplinary collaboration ethos.
Build and maintain strong networks within the private sector, leveraging professional relationships to identify and secure new opportunities.
