Duties & Responsibilities
Project Planning & Management

Lead electrical construction projects from initiation to completion.
Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Ensure alignment with client requirements and regulatory frameworks.
Solar PV Expertise

Supervise installation of solar panels, inverters,energy storage systems, and electrical balance-of-system components
Ensure proper grid integration, load management, and energy efficiency.
Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical input on solar project design.
stay updated on emerging technologies (microgrids, EV charging integration, hybrid systems)
Technical Oversight

Review and approve electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to SANS, OHS Act, ISO 9001/14001/45001, and other relevant standards
Oversee testing, commissioning, and quality assurance of electrical systems.
implement risk assessment, hazard identification (HIRA), and corrective action processess.
Compliance & Registration

Maintain professional registration with SACPCMP (Construction Manager/Project Manager) or ECSA (Professional Engineer/Technologist).
Ensure projects meet statutory, environmental, and safety requirements.
Prepare documentation for audits, inspections, and certifications.
Ensure compliance with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contratural frameworks
Team Leadership

Manage electricians, technicians, and subcontractors on-site.
Provide training and mentorship on solar technologies and electrical safety.
Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and environmental teams for integrated project delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Provide progress reports and technical updates to stakeholders.
Resolve project challenges and ensure customer satisfaction.
