Duties Include:
Duties & Responsibilities
Risk Assessment & RAMS Development
Identify hazards and assess risks associated with solar panel installation and electrical construction activities.
Populate and maintain RAMS documentation for all project phases.
Ensure RAMS are aligned with project scope, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
Regularly update risk registeres and ensure traceability of risk controls.
Risk Analysis & Mitigation
Analyze technical, operational, and environmental risks in solar PV projects.
Recommend mitigation strategies to reduce likelihood and impact of risks.
Monitor risk controls and update assessments as projects progress.
Apply quantitative and qualitative risk modelling techniques
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with OHS Act, SANS standards, and other relevant regulations.
Conduct site inspections and audits to verify adherence to RAMS.
Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Integrate risk management into SHEQ systems
Solar PV Expertise
Apply knowledge of solar panel installation, grid integration, and electrical systems to risk analysis.
Identify risks specific to PV systems (e.g., electrical hazards, fire risks, structural safety).
Advise project teams on safe work practices for renewable energy installations.
Evaluate risk associated with emerging technologies (battery storage, hybrid systems, EV integration)
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure RAMS are practical and effective.
Provide training and guidance to site teams on risk awareness and mitigation.
Communicate risk findings and recommendations to senior management.
Facilitate risk workshop and promote a proactive risk culture.
