North West Cricket (NPC) is inviting applications for the position of a Finance Manager.
NWC is a provincial governing body for the sport of cricket in North West and administers all aspects of North West Cricket. The Finance Manager should have the appropriate balance of knowledge, skills, experience, diversity and independence for it to discharge its duties and responsibilities effectively.
The ideal candidate will have and must demonstrate working experience at Finance duties in sports administration. The ideal candidate will have an understanding and strong interest in cricket. Diversity will be a strong consideration when making appointments.
The Finance Manager will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The role requires the ability and willingness to work long hours, over weekends and public holidays where necessary.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (BCom Finance, or similar).
Professional qualification (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA, and CIMA) is advantageous.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant financial management experience.
Financial systems such as Sage 300 People, Pastel Evolution and Microsoft Excel
Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation and statutory compliance.
Experience with audit preparation and liaison with external auditors.
Experience in the South African sports or non-profit sector is advantageous.

Duties Include:
Job Purpose:
The Financial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of North West Cricket (NWC). This includes ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing cash flow and budgets, and supporting executive decision-making through effective financial planning and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Process General Ledger journal entries in line with accounting standards and organisational policies.
Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy and completeness.
Capture and reconcile bank transactions and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
Supplier payments and manage the organisation's payroll function.
Compile accurate and timely financial statements and monthly management reports.
Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts and financial projections.
Develop, monitor, and report on annual budgets in collaboration with departments.
Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring assets are recorded and depreciated correctly.
Review and coordinate the annual insurance renewal process, ensuring adequate cover for all assets and activities.
Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, SDL, and UIF via SARS eFiling.
Process monthly salaries using the Sage 300 People system, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legislation.

Administer and maintain accurate employee financial records.
Responsible for ordering stock for the kiosk during match days, as well as managing petty cash and stock procurement for the VIP area.

Administer assets of the company
Support cricket development programs by providing financial oversight and guidance.
Ensure transparent procurement practices and manage service provider contracts.
Submit timely financial reports to Cricket South Africa, funders, and key stakeholders.
