Experience Needed:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five (5) years’ coaching experience of a women’s team will be an advantage.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the identification and development of talented players.
Understanding of the country’s transformation objectives.
Experience in having played first-class cricket will be an advantage.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATION
Minimum Level 3 CSA coaching qualification will be an advantage.
Sport Management qualification will be an advantage.
Driver’s License and PDP.
Safeguarding Awareness Certificate (SAC Awareness)
Police Clearance
Sexual offences clearance
Child protection clearance
First aid certificate
REQUIRED BEHAVIOURAL & TECHNICAL COMPETENCE
Knowledge & Skills:
In-depth knowledge of performance excellence and the Player Performance Plan.
Ability to play a supporting role to the head coach and team.
Ability to coach and identify talent at a professional level.

Understanding of the CSA Long-Term Player Development process.
Knowledge of the South African domestic cricket systems.

Working knowledge of all related legislation (including but not limited to the OHS Act, Safety at Sports and Recreational Act, etc.).

Duties Include:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Serve as an Assistant Coach to the Head Coach and Women’s Professional team to ensure the delivery of varied, integrated, and inclusive Cricket Coaching Programmes.
Oversee the women’s programme with the intent to optimise performance and the development of all identified cricketers.
Demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviour through personal development, commitment, and dedication in support of organisational values.
Ensure that support systems and structures for the cricketers are enhanced to sustain adequate performance standards.
Promote a culture of excellence through appropriate coaching techniques.
Be actively involved in the talent identification of women players within the North-West Cricket Dragons Women’s Professional Team.
Assess player skills and provide feedback to the Head Coach.
Monitor players during practices and competition.
Maintain player records and other relevant documentation.
Additional Info:
An exciting opportunity has become available at North-West Cricket for an Assistant Coach. The successful candidate will be required to support and assist the Head Coach of the NWC Dragons Women’s Professional Team to enable high-performance levels set by the team management, and by working closely with all existing coaching structures within North-West Cricket with regards to women’s cricket. This position also plays a key role in delivering wider company goals. The candidate will report to the NWC Dragons Professional Women’s Team Head Coach.
The successful candidate will be employed under a Fixed Term Contract ending 30 April 2026 and be expected to work flexible hours at North-West Cricket, JB Marks Oval, 1 Loop Street, in Potchefstroom from the execution of their duties.
