Eligibility: v A doctoral degree, obtained within 5 years before the appointment as a postdoctoral fellow, is mandatory. v The candidate must have the intention to pursue a full-time academic career at a university. v The maximum age is 45.

Job description A Postdoctoral fellowship is available at The Research Focus Area: Ancient Texts, Context and Reception within the Faculty of Theology of the North-west University. The successful postdoctoral fellow will be allocated an experienced Mentor from the Focus area. The Research Focus Area strives to contribute to Research and Innovation by producing cutting edge research outputs to the Research field of ancient texts. To achieve this, the FA provides opportunities to suitable candidates as elucidated below.
Duration of the fellowship: The fellowship is available for an initial period of 1 year. Renewal may be considered for up to 3 years contingent upon available funding; satisfactory performance, as agreed with the fellowship mentor/ supervisor; and productive integration into the subprogramme.
