N4 – N6 in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
PLC / SCADA experience will be advantageous

Required Skills
Minimum 2 years’ experience in instrumentation maintenance within a plant / mining / crushing / manufacturing environment
Experience working with:
Process control systems
PLCs and SCADA systems
Load cells and weighing systems
Flow, pressure, and temperature transmitters
Control valves and actuators
Experience in preventative maintenance planning and implementation
Exposure to fault-finding on automated plant equipment.
Experience with VSDs and soft starters.

About the Role
The Instrumentation Mechanician will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, fault-finding, and optimisation of plant instrumentation and control systems across OMV’s processing and production facilities. The role plays a critical part in minimising downtime, improving plant performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards through proactive preventative maintenance and effective breakdown response.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and testing of instrumentation equipment.
Diagnose faults on plant instrumentation systems and implement corrective action.
Install and commission new instrumentation equipment where required.
Maintain plant PLC and SCADA systems to ensure operational continuity.
Assist Engineering and Production teams in improving plant uptime.
Monitor system performance and recommend improvements where necessary.
Support breakdown response to minimise production downtime.
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections as per maintenance schedules.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental standards.
Participate in risk assessments and safety inspections.
Ensure instrumentation installations comply with regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and calibration reports.
Identify opportunities to optimise plant automation and control systems.
Support plant upgrades and modification projects.
Assist with troubleshooting production inefficiencies linked to instrumentation systems.
