Completed B. Com / B. Acc or equivalent degree;
Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles in a public practice environment;
5 years post-article experience in an accounting environment;
Fluent in English and Afrikaans (Afrikaans is non-negotiable);
Comprehensive up-to-date accounting and taxation skills;
A pro-active “self-starter” attitude and the ability to work independently;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
Advantageous Skills / Professional Registrations:
Post-graduate degree;
Working knowledge of Draftworx, SAGE VIP, Pastel or similar packages;
Supervisory experience;
Tax practitioner registration;
SAIPA / AGA(SA) registration.
Duties Include:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Full-function accounting and bookkeeping services for a portfolio of clients;
Preparation of annual financial statements for clients across various industry sectors;
Preparation of reports for management and stakeholders of clients;
Accounting, technical and business support services to a diverse client base;
Liaising with SARS, Department of Labour, Master of the High Court and other government agencies on behalf of clients;
Comprehensive taxation services to a diverse client base, including income tax, VAT, PAYE, estate duty, provisional tax etc.;
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to untangle complexities independently with clarity and confidence.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant ready to take on new challenges alongside our existing team in Potchefstroom. The firm provides accounting, taxation and related services to clients through-out South Africa, focusing on owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs in the central regions of the country.
Success in this position requires effective collaboration with clients across various business sectors to maintain consistency and accuracy in the services rendered. The scope is not limited to day-to-day accounting tasks but will require advanced application of financial and taxation skills to ensure effective client management and communication. The role is client-facing and although you will initially work closely with senior team members you will take ownership of your own client portfolio.
A solid understanding of IFRS for SMEs, tax regulations and financial reporting is essential. You should have strong analytical skills, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
The position is integral to supporting the firm’s sustainability and growth by ensuring that services rendered to our diverse client portfolio are efficient, transparent, and aligned with all required standards and legislation.
