Our client farming on a pig farm requires applicant with experience in daily operations, staff supervision, herd health, and compliance, while stepping in as acting manager when needed. Their role blends hands-on livestock care with administrative and strategic responsibilities.

Livestock Management

• Monitor pig health and welfare: Regular checks for disease, injuries, and stress indicators.

• Implement feeding programs: Ensure pigs receive balanced diets appropriate for growth stages.

• Breeding and farrowing support: Assist with mating schedules, pregnancy monitoring, and piglet care.

• Biosecurity enforcement: Maintain strict hygiene protocols to prevent disease outbreaks.

Operational Oversight

• Daily farm routines: Supervise cleaning, feeding, and waste management.

• Staff supervision: Assign tasks, training of workers, and monitor performance.

• Equipment and facility maintenance: Oversee repairs and ensure pens, ventilation, and water systems function properly.

• Record keeping: Track pig weights, feed usage, breeding cycles, and health treatments.

Administrative & Strategic Support

• Budget and resource planning: Assist in managing feed costs, veterinary expenses, and labour budgets.

• Compliance: Ensure adherence to animal welfare laws, environmental regulations, and safety standards.

• Reporting: Prepare updates for the farm manager on productivity, mortality rates, and operational challenges.
