Field Technician (Millwright / Instrumentation Technician)

Experience Needed:

Experience: Electrical/Mechanical/Instrumentation/Hydraulic experience (Essential) Minimum two years maintenance (mining) experience (Essential) Networking (preferred) PCL (preferred)


Qualifications: Grade 12 (Maths and Science) Diploma or Certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Millwright / Electro-mechanic, or related field.

Responsibilities Will Include, but not be Limited to the Following: 1. Commissioning and Installation: Execute commissioning activities for millwright and instrumentation components at mining sites. Install and calibrate instruments, control systems, and mechanical equipment as per project specifications. 2. Field Support: Provide on-site technical support during the project lifecycle. Diagnose and resolve issues related to millwright and instrumentation systems. 3. Networking and Computer Literacy: Utilize basic networking skills to ensure seamless integration of systems. Interface with computer-based control systems and troubleshoot software-related issues 4. Global Travel: Be willing to travel extensively to various mining sites worldwide for extended periods. Adapt to different work environments and cultures. 5. Project Oversight: Oversee the initial stages of project implementation, ensuring smooth operation and performance. Conduct regular check-ins and monitor system health during the early stages of project operation. 6. Mining Sector Expertise: Leverage knowledge and experience in the mining sector to enhance project understanding. Stay updated on industry trends and apply best practices. 7. Callouts and Emergency Response: Be available for callouts and respond promptly to emergency situations. Implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
