Duties Include:
Control Room Activities • Supervises the Control Room function by checking and analysing reports and takes corrective action when required. • Coordinates various ancillary functions with regards to callouts for e.g., breakdowns, medical assistance, stores requirements, communication failure, clocking system malfunction • Reacts on various abnormalities within designated areas e.g., electrical demand exceeding supply, fire alarms, dam levels. Where necessary takes corrective action. • Trains and develops current and new users on the System and provides follow up support based on experience and acquired knowledge of the system. • Control of all plant process flows • Monitor, locate and plot plant information • Identify and solve problems on all systems • Stop and restart of all equipment in his / her area of responsibility • Performs any other activities necessary for the effective completion of his/her work.
Stakeholder Relations • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and crossfunctionally. • Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders. • Sourcing, contracting and negotiating with service providers. • Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable. • Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance processes.
Financial Management Cost Savings: • Adhere to cost saving and cash conservation initiatives. • Ensures that costs are controlled and wastage of resources eliminated by reacting to circumstances timeously to avoid unnecessary delays and downtime
