Sector Preference: Strong preference for experience in the electrical/renewable energy or heavy construction sectors.
Advantage: Experience in foundation works and infrastructure development for utility-scale Solar PV projects.
Duties Include:
Duties & Responsibilities
Legal Compliance & Expertise:
Act as the site expert on all relevant South African Labour Laws, including the LRA, BCEA, EEA, and applicable Sectoral Determinations (e.g., civil construction/electrical trades).
Ensure the project and all subcontractors maintain full compliance with labour legislation and collective agreements.
Dispute & Disciplinary Management:
Manage and resolve workplace disputes, grievances, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy and labour law.
Represent the company in conciliation and arbitration proceedings (CCMA/Bargaining Councils) when required.
Industrial Stability:
Develop and implement strategies to ensure industrial stability and prevent work stoppages or unrest.
Manage relationships with trade unions and employee representatives.
Sub-Contractor IR Coordination:
Monitor and audit subcontractor compliance with labour legislation and IR best practices as stipulated in their contracts.
Coordinate IR activities across all tiers of the construction workforce to ensure a harmonious work environment.
Administration & Reporting:
Maintain accurate and confidential records of all IR incidents, warnings, agreements, and resolutions.
Prepare regular reports on the industrial relations climate, risks, and performance for the HR Manager and Project Management team.
