Cashier / Financial Duties
Operating the till (POS system)

Ensuring that discounts allowed is within company policy.

Responsible for reconciling daily cash ups.

Ensuring correct coinage kept in float.

Ensuring that excess cash is banked timeously

Ensure that speed points are functional

Ensuring that all till payouts are authorised and accompanied by a valid invoice/slip.

Completing and filing end of day reports.

Submission of reports and documents to H/O.

Day end and roll over

Daily back up of all computers in the store.

Stock Control
Ordering of all stock items including sundry items.

Monitoring stock levels and store purchases, stock rotation

Generating GRV for all stock received in the store and ensuring that it balances to the invoice.

Ensuring that correct selling prices are maintained on the system

Updating promo/ special prices

Ensuring that margin per product is maintained.

Responsible for adhering to the discount policy.

Ensuring that all stock is accounted for (no stock to leave the premises without an invoice).

Responsible for carrying out weekly stock counts and accounting for any variances.

Timeous updating of stock adjustments.

Identify areas where there is a risk of shrinkage and implement controls to reduce risk.

Staff
Maintenance of the daily attendance register and ensuring that all staff have clocked in timeously.

Responsible for coordinating staff rotation / Days off.

Ensuring that all staff leave is authorised with an appropriate leave form.

Ensuring that all staff adhere to the dress code.

General / Sales
Ensure good administration and control of procedures are adhered to.

Ensuring that the store cleanliness and adherence to C.I. is always maintained.

Lead and motivate the store team to maximize sales and provide exceptional customer service.

Handling customer complaints and directing the complaint to the appropriate channels for resolution.

Active role in the marketing and promotion of the store.

Controlling / Maintenance of the customer base.

Assisting and following up with quotes.

Monitor Competitor products and pricing.

Co-ordinate and facilitate communication between store and head office finance, production, marketing, technical.
