Minimum Qualifications & Experience
4.1 Education
Matric / National Senior Certificate (essential).
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Marketing, Supply Chain, E-Commerce, or a related field (advantageous).
Postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification (advantageous).
4.2 Experience
Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in e-commerce catalogue management, product information management (PIM), or a related digital operations role.
At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or team management capacity, including recruitment and performance management.
Proven experience implementing or managing catalogue/onboarding tools or PIM systems.
Experience working within a marketplace, online retail, or multi-channel e-commerce environment.
Familiarity with South African e-commerce platforms (e.g., Takealot Seller Portal, Makro Marketplace, Shopify, WooCommerce) is advantageous.

5.1 Technical Skills
Strong understanding of product data management, taxonomy design, and catalogue enrichment processes.
Proficiency in content management systems, and e-commerce platforms.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation).
Working knowledge of data feeds, APIs, and integration between internal systems and e-commerce platforms.
Familiarity with SEO principles as they relate to product content optimisation.

Key Responsibilities
3.1 Catalogue Management & Strategy
Own and manage the full product catalogue lifecycle, including product creation, enrichment, categorisation, attribute mapping, and retirement across all e-commerce platforms.
Develop and maintain catalogue governance policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and style guides to ensure consistency and compliance.
Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, procurement, and IT teams to ensure accurate and timely product listings aligned with commercial objectives.
Monitor catalogue KPIs (e.g., listing accuracy, time-to-publish, content completeness) and report performance to senior management.
3.2 CatalogIQ Onboarding Tool – Implementation & Management
Lead the end-to-end implementation of the CatalogIQ onboarding tool, including scoping, configuration, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go-live.
Serve as the primary business owner and subject matter expert (SME) for CatalogIQ, acting as the liaison between internal stakeholders and the vendor/technology partner.
Develop and document onboarding workflows, validation rules, and data-mapping configurations within CatalogIQ.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with IT and the vendor for upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
Continuously evaluate the tool’s effectiveness and recommend process improvements to maximise ROI and adoption.
Train internal users and suppliers on CatalogIQ functionality and best practices.
3.3 QA Team Recruitment, Training & Management
Recruit, onboard, and build a high-performing team of QA Agents in line with organisational needs and the Employment Equity Act (EEA).
Design and deliver comprehensive training programmes covering catalogue standards, QA processes, tool usage (including CatalogIQ), and e-commerce best practices.
Set clear performance objectives and KPIs for QA Agents; conduct regular performance reviews in line with company policy.
Manage daily workflows, allocate tasks, and ensure adequate resource coverage during peak trading periods.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and quality excellence within the QA team.
Address team-related matters including leave management, disciplinary processes, and employee wellness, in compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and company HR policies.
3.4 Quality Assurance & Data Integrity
Define and enforce QA standards for all product content, including titles, descriptions, imagery, pricing, and attributes.
Implement and manage audit processes to identify and rectify catalogue errors, duplicates, and data inconsistencies.
Develop and maintain QA checklists, scorecards, and reporting dashboards.
Collaborate with data teams to ensure integration accuracy between internal systems and marketplace systems.
Ensure compliance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) regarding product information accuracy and disclosure.
3.5 Stakeholder & Supplier Management
Liaise with external suppliers, sellers, and marketplace partners to ensure product content meets quality and completeness standards upon submission.
Manage escalations relating to catalogue discrepancies, content disputes, and onboarding delays.
Provide regular status updates, reporting, and insights to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
3.6 Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Stay abreast of e-commerce catalogue management trends, technologies, and best practices.
Identify automation opportunities to streamline catalogue operations and reduce manual effort.
Contribute to broader digital transformation and e-commerce growth initiatives.
Benchmark catalogue processes against industry standards and competitor practices.
