This year, Father’s Day at Pont de Val is shaping up to be quite the treat. On Sunday, 15 June, families will gather riverside for a celebration that promises good food, cold drinks and plenty of cheer.
Food and Drink Galore
Let’s start with the main event, the spit-braai buffet. Picture this: juicy meats roasting over the coals, waiting to be piled high on plates. Once you’re done with the meat feast, there’s a beer garden with beer tasting to wash it all down, as well as wine tasting and pairing to get those tastebuds tingling.
To finish off the meal, a warm dessert is on the cards. Because what’s a feast without something sweet to round it all off?
Music, Lawn Games and Gifts
While the grown-ups are busy in the beer garden, the kids can dive into lawn games on the scenic picnic grounds. And because no South African celebration is complete without a bit of a jam, there’ll be live music to keep the festive spirit going.
As a little token of appreciation for all the dads who’ve survived countless dad jokes and school runs, each father will be sent home with a special take-home gift. No guarantees it’ll replace the socks and ties, but it’s a start!
Booking Details
For those keen to spoil dad, tickets are R595 for adults and R180 for kids. Booking is essential, so pop over to www.pontdeval.com to secure your spot.

The Venue
You’ll find the party at Vaal River Road, Parys, a spot that’s practically made for good times, laughter and (of course) some braai banter.
So, come 15 June, don’t be that family still figuring out what to do for Dad. Head to Pont de Val and give him a day to remember, minus the stress, plus the beer.
