Baswa le Metsi Adjudication Showcases Water Conservation Talent

On 12 August 2025, the City of Matlosana Local Municipality, in collaboration with the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), hosted the Baswa le Metsi Adjudication competition to highlight learner initiatives promoting water conservation. The event formed part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about sustainable water use among young people.

Event Overview
The competition took place with the participation of primary schools from the region. Learners presented creative works focusing on the importance of water conservation.

Drama
Mr. Lebogang Tau, Assistant Director of the Water Department, opened the event and acknowledged the creativity of the participants in delivering messages about water preservation.

Buffelsvlei Primary School
Results
The City of Matlosana recognised and congratulated all winning schools for their performances. Schools that did not place were commended for their efforts and encouraged to continue engaging in water conservation activities.
