Vyfhoek
Baillie Park
Tuscany Ridge
Grimbreek Park
Van der Hoff Park
Die Land
Waterberry
Residents of Potchefstroom are urged to take note of a planned water supply interruption that will affect several neighborhoods this week. The JB Marks Local Municipality has announced that essential maintenance work will be carried out on the Vyfhoek Reservoir Supply Line, leading to a temporary disruption in water services.
When and Where?
Start: Tuesday, 20 May 2025 at 08:00
End: Wednesday, 21 May 2025 at 18:00
This 34-hour planned interruption is crucial for infrastructure upgrades and will impact water supply in the following areas:
Vyfhoek
Baillie Park
Tuscany Ridge
Grimbreek Park
Van der Hoff Park
Die Land
Waterberry
Parts of Potchefstroom Central
Why the Interruption is Necessary
The scheduled shutdown will allow technical teams to:
Connect a new 450mm OPVC pipeline to the pump station and reservoir.
Replace the aging 400mm asbestos pipe, ensuring a safer and more reliable supply system for the future.
These upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to modernize and secure Potchefstroom's water infrastructure.
What Residents Should Do
To minimize inconvenience, the Municipality strongly encourages all affected households and businesses to:
Store enough water ahead of the shutdown period.
Use water sparingly during the hours leading up to the outage.
Ensure that water-dependent activities are planned around the scheduled interruption.
