It was a weekend of extreme emotions for the North West Dragons cricket family, with both the men’s and women’s teams facing stiff opposition on the field. Despite the results, the message from the union remains one of pride and perseverance.

Men’s Team: Heartbreak at JB Marks Oval
The Dragons men’s team was involved in a true thriller against their opponents in the 1-Day Cup. After being bowled out for 115, the Dragons fought until the final moments to try and save the match.
The clash turned into a nail-biting finish, but the Dragons ultimately fell short by just 6 runs. Despite the defeat, the team’s fighting spirit showed that the "fire is still burning" as they look ahead in the competition.
Ladies: A Tough End at Steyn City School
The Dragons Ladies concluded their season in a match that was shortened. It was a challenging day on the field where the team lost by 10 wickets in their final game of the series.
Although it was not the finish the team hoped for, management highlighted several points of growth:
The fight, growth, and spirit shown throughout the entire season.
The opportunity to learn from the challenges faced.
The commitment to come back stronger as the journey continues.
