Hoërskool Carletonville's choir continues to prove that talent, hard work, and teamwork can truly take you places. This year, the Callies Choir, made up of 61 dedicated learners, once again delivered show-stopping performances during two major local cultural events, and walked away with top honours.

🏆 A Golden Season for Callies
The choir took part in two highly regarded competitions:
At the Festival De Arte held at Laerskool Losberg, they received a gold certificate for their performance.
At the RACA Eisteddfod in Randfontein, they went one step further and earned a diamond certificate - the highest accolade on offer.
These achievements reflect the hours of practice and the strong bond within the group.
👩🎤 Leadership That Lifts Voices
The choir is led by the passionate and experienced Esther Phale, who is backed by a dynamic team:
Mr. Thato Kabai
Mr. Itumeleng Innocent Sereo
Mr. Mthokozisi Mafuleka
Together, they help shape not just voices, but confidence and character too. Ms. Maryna Booysen serves as the choir organiser, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
“The choir always carries Callies’ name with pride,” says Esther Phale, and their latest achievements are proof of that commitment.
🎤 More Than Just Music
The Callies Choir isn’t just about singing, it’s about building community, boosting school spirit, and giving every learner a platform to express themselves creatively. Each member brings something unique to the group, and it’s that diversity in harmony that makes their sound so powerful.
Their growing repertoire and confidence on stage have made them a highlight at every event they attend, and a source of pride for the entire Carletonville community.
👏 Congratulations to the Callies Choir!
From every high note to every perfectly blended harmony, this group shows what’s possible when passion meets purpose. We look forward to seeing (and hearing!) what they’ll achieve next.
