The future of South African women's golf is burning incredibly bright, and one of its newest rising stars hails directly from the classrooms of Hoërskool Carletonville (Callies). The school community is in full celebration following the announcement of a phenomenal golfing masterclass by Grade 8 learner, Lerato Lesenyego.

Lerato showcased elite composure, technical precision, and an exceptional reading of the greens to claim first place at the prestigious SA Kids Tournament, held at the challenging Huddle Park Golf Club in Johannesburg.
A Masterclass on the Greens: Carding an 84
Competing against some of the finest junior golfing talents in the country, Lerato handled the high-pressure environment like a seasoned professional. She delivered a remarkably consistent and tactical performance over 18 holes, carding a brilliant score of 84.
In the game of golf, every stroke counts, and navigating a championship course while managing a tournament leaderboard requires immense mental fortitude. Lerato’s winning score not only secured her the gold medal but also highlighted her advanced ball-striking ability and exceptional short-game skills, leaving her competitors trailing behind.

As a Grade 8D learner, Lerato is already demonstrating the perfect balance between rigorous high school academics and demanding sports schedules. Earning a national junior title at this stage of her high school career signals a very promising future in the sport.
With this trophy safely in her bag, Lerato has firmly established herself as a young athlete to watch on the national junior circuits.
