Empowering Through Education:

This initiative forms part of the municipality’s broader strategy to foster equitable economic participation, reduce vulnerability, and promote sustainable enterprise development among entrepreneurs with disabilities. By targeting an often-overlooked segment of the business community, the City aims to create more accessible opportunities in procurement, supply chain participation, and enterprise growth.

Training and Focus Areas:

Delivered at NQF Level 2, the programme was designed to enhance participants’ practical and theoretical understanding of key business components.

The training sessions covered essential topics, including:

  • Customer Service Excellence

  • Business Plan Development

  • Marketing and Brand Positioning

  • Financial and Cash Flow Management

  • Tendering Processes and RFQ/RFP Applications

Participants were guided through practical exercises and discussions to strengthen their entrepreneurial capabilities and improve their readiness to compete in formal markets.

Commitment to Inclusion:

Speaking on behalf of the LED Division, officials highlighted the municipality’s dedication to empowering entrepreneurs with disabilities as a means of promoting inclusive economic transformation. They emphasised that the skills acquired during the training would not only support business growth but also contribute to long-term economic resilience and independence.

Way Forward:

The success of the workshop marks a significant milestone in the City of Matlosana’s ongoing efforts to build a diverse, inclusive, and opportunity-driven local economy. By investing in human capital within the disability sector, the City continues to demonstrate its commitment to ensuring that every citizen has a role to play in shaping a prosperous regional future.
