City of Matlosana Enhances Utility Billing Accuracy and Introduces New Online Portal

The City of Matlosana has implemented significant changes to its utility billing system and introduced a new online web portal. These measures are part of the municipality's ongoing efforts to improve the accuracy and dependability of monthly meter readings and enhance service delivery to consumers. The updates aim to provide greater clarity on how meter readings are processed and offer residents a convenient new method for submitting their consumption data.

Billing System Enhancement


The municipality has announced a change in the process for utilising meter readings for billing purposes. Currently, all readings submitted during the current month are used exclusively for billing in the following month.


This process will be revised in the coming months. The improvement will ensure that current readings are used for the billing of the same month. The City is confident that this adjustment, made possible by upgraded meter-reading procedures, will help reduce queries and improve the overall quality and performance of its service. Residents are expected to notice a positive difference in the coming months.

New Online Meter Reading Web Portal


In a separate but related effort to improve accuracy and efficiency, the City of Matlosana has introduced a new online web portal for meter readings. This portal allows consumers to conveniently record their water and electricity readings. The platform is accessible via any web browser on a computer or mobile device.


To access the portal, residents must visit www.matlosana.org, register, and log in before submitting readings. It is noted that this portal is only applicable to accounts with active water or electricity meters and will not work for accounts that only show rates and taxes. For any difficulties experienced, assistance is available via email at readings@matlosana.org or through WhatsApp at +27 68 353 6788.
