Supporting Sustainable Waste Management
The Matlosana Waste Management Unit urges residents to separate recyclables where possible and to report any missed collections or illegal dumping sites. The department has also reminded citizens that overflowing bins and improper waste disposal can lead to health and environmental risks if not managed responsibly.
Residents are encouraged to:
Use black bags for general waste and green bins for recyclables where available.
Ensure bins are placed outside by 7:00 a.m. on collection days.
Keep lids securely closed to prevent spillage or animal interference.
Refrain from dumping waste on sidewalks, open fields, or near stormwater drains.

Working Together for a Cleaner City
Municipal spokespersons reiterated that sustainable waste management is a shared responsibility between residents and the municipality. “Clean neighbourhoods contribute to public health, attract investment, and foster civic pride,” the municipality stated.
Citizens are encouraged to engage with municipal updates through the official Facebook page City of Matlosana Municipal Updates or contact the Waste Management Office at 018 487 8771 during working hours for any inquiries related to collections or recycling initiatives.
Cleaner Communities, Brighter Future
The City of Matlosana continues to emphasize its vision of building an environmentally sustainable and service-oriented city. Through structured waste management and community cooperation, Klerksdorp’s residents can look forward to cleaner streets, improved public health, and a stronger sense of civic responsibility.
Together, the municipality and community are paving the way toward a cleaner, greener, and more liveable Matlosana.
