The City of Matlosana has intensified its accelerated service delivery programme this week, with multiple technical departments conducting essential work across several suburbs. From road grading and resurfacing to sewer-line maintenance and street-light repairs, the municipality’s teams have been dispatched throughout the region to address critical infrastructure needs as directed by the Executive Mayor and Council.
Roads Graded and Water Channels Cleaned in Tigane and Kanana
On Tuesday, 25 November 2025, the Technical and Infrastructure Directorate undertook vital service delivery tasks in several communities. In Tigane Extension 7, municipal teams carried out the grading of gravel roads to improve accessibility and driving safety.
In Kanana, the water channel was cleaned to ensure proper flow and reduce the risk of flooding or blockages. This forms part of ongoing routine maintenance to support stormwater management in the area.
Pothole Repairs Conducted in Wilkoppies
Also on Tuesday, repairs were performed in Wilkoppies as part of the municipality’s continuous response to road-surface deterioration. Patching of potholes was completed to enhance driving conditions and mitigate vehicle damage for residents, businesses, and visitors moving through the neighbourhood.
Sewer Lines Unblocked in Multiple Areas
The Sewer Department simultaneously carried out essential maintenance by unblocking sewer lines in Kanana, Jouberton, and Alabama. These reactive and preventative actions help reduce sewer overflows, minimise health risks, and protect municipal sanitation infrastructure.
Major Roads Resurfaced in La Hoff
On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, the City’s Roads Department began a series of resurfacing operations in La Hoff. The following roads received new asphalt layers to improve road quality and extend their lifespan:
Mikro Street
Leipoldt Street
Kielblock Street
Lautz Avenue
The resurfacing forms part of a broader programme to address aging road infrastructure across Matlosana.
Road Repairs Continue in La Hoff with Additional Electrical Work
On Thursday, 27 November 2025, road-repair operations continued in La Hoff, expanding to a new set of streets. Work was completed on:
Malherbe Street
Boshoff Street
Irvin Street
Lautz Street
In parallel, the Electrical Department began fixing non-functional street lights in the same area, enhancing safety and visibility for residents during night-time hours.
