City of Matlosana Welcomes New Councillor and Launches Easy Pay System

The City of Matlosana has marked a day of progress and renewal with two key events, the official launch of its Easy Pay system and the swearing-in of a new councillor, Mr. Peter Loots. Both developments signal the municipality’s ongoing efforts to improve accessibility, transparency, and community service delivery.
Simplifying Payments with Easy Pay
Residents can now conveniently settle their municipal accounts online through the newly introduced Easy Pay system. The platform enables users to make secure payments using their account numbers, reducing the need for in-person visits and long queues. To support the rollout, the municipal finance team has been stationed outside Pick n Pay Hyper in Wilkoppies, Klerksdorp, where they are assisting residents with payments, enquiries, and meter readings.
For continuous support, the Municipal Finance Office will remain open every Wednesday from 09:00 to 14:30 and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 13:30, ensuring residents receive help when needed. The initiative reflects the city’s drive toward efficient and citizen-friendly financial management.
New Leadership Joins the Council
In another significant development, Mr. Peter Loots was officially sworn in as a Proportional Representative Councillor for the Patriotic Alliance (PA). The ceremony took place at the Klerksdorp Magistrate Court and was officiated by Senior Magistrate Ms. Marionette Kirsten.
Councillor Loots took an oath to uphold the Constitution of South Africa and serve with dedication and integrity. His appointment adds new energy to the City Council, where his role will focus on contributing to policy discussions and community improvement initiatives. The City of Matlosana expressed its confidence and extended a warm welcome to its newest member.
