Classic Clash 2025: PHSB vs HTS – Team Spirit, Tough Play & Top Moments!

This year’s FNB Classic Clash between Potchefstroom High School for Boys (PHSB) and Hoër Tegniese Skool Potchefstroom (HTS) delivered a full day of action, friendly rivalry, and proud moments on and off the field. Both schools came well-prepared and gave it their all, making it a day to remember.
🏉 Rugby – Hard Hits & Close Calls
PHSB had strong showings in most of their rugby matches, especially among the junior teams. The first team match was a tight one, but HTS managed to edge ahead in the final stretch.
U14: PHSB lost 0–17
U15: PHSB won 36–6
U16: PHSB won 52–5
1st Team: PHSB narrowly lost 17–21
You could feel the tension in the air during that final match, it was full-on till the last whistle!
⚽ Soccer – Big Goals and Bigger Heart
The soccer side of the day also had its fair share of excitement, with PHSB showing real form:
U15: 1–1 draw
U16: PHSB won 6–0
1st Team: PHSB won 2–1
Despite PHSB taking the majority of wins across rugby and soccer, HTS Potch walked away with the overall Classic Clash win. 🏆Well deserved!
👏 More Than Just Scores
One of the things that stood out was the level of sportsmanship. Both teams played hard, but there was mutual respect throughout the day. That’s what school sport is all about, putting your heart into it, but keeping it honourable. 💯

Well done to HTS Potch on their win, and big ups to every PHSB player for putting in the effort and playing with pride. The scoreboard tells one story, but the heart on that field told another.
