Cleaning Up the Kasi: How Reafenya Projects & Maintenance is Transforming Ikageng

In the heart of Ikageng, a young entrepreneur is turning dust into dreams. What started as a response to local demand has now grown into a fast-rising cleaning and home services company. Meet Katlego Mota, the founder of Reafenya Projects & Maintenance (Pty) Ltd, a proudly kasi-based business making a powerful impact.

A Business Born from Community Need

"I started my business on the 6th of December 2024," says Katlego. The idea came from seeing how many people in Ikageng needed help: “A lot of people here want their yards cleaned, but they don’t always have the time or tools. I decided to step in.”

That decision became the foundation of a business built for the people, by one of their own.

What Makes It Special?

Katlego proudly explains what sets Reafenya Projects & Maintenance apart:

“My service is the best. It’s affordable and always leaves a positive impact on my customers.”

The company serves mainly residents in and around Double Skhona and continues to grow through word of mouth and trusted work.

More Than Just Cleaning

Reafenya Projects & Maintenance offers a wide range of services, making it a one-stop solution for kasi households. Their services include:

  • Yard Cleaning

  • Carports

  • Tree Felling

  • Paving Installation

  • Roofing Services

  • Premium TV Stand Installation

  • Painting

  • Building Walls

  • Wardrobe Installation

The First Job and the Daily Hustler

“I got my first customer from a lady mo kasi at Di Loune,” Katlego recalls. But getting regular clients remains a daily mission.

“I have to market my business every day. That’s part of the hustle.”

A Team From the Kasi

Katlego’s team comes from the same streets he grew up on. “I found my team right here in my kasi,” he says. “We use trusted products like Domestos and liquid soap, and I’m still in the process of training them to keep quality high.”

Popular Services and Happy Clients

According to Katlego, the most requested services are dustbin cleaning and yard cleaning.“I keep customers happy by giving them positive feedback and showing appreciation,” he says with pride.

Big Dreams for the Future

Katlego’s vision is bigger than just cleaning yards.

“I want to grow and expand. I’m planning to add a fast-food restaurant and eventually build a company office so I can hire more people from my kasi.”

Loving the Journey

Above all, Katlego enjoys what he does. He believes in hard work and staying focused:

“Always strive and focus on what you do.”

From dusty streets to solid walls, Reafenya Projects & Maintenance (Pty) Ltd is proof that with passion and purpose, local dreams can build real change.
