Operation Compassion Potchefstroom (OCSA Potch) is intensifying its community support through a series of targeted humanitarian initiatives aimed at aiding the vulnerable and unemployed residents of the North West province. These efforts, which form part of the broader Project Nehemiah, focus on providing both material relief and social connection to those facing economic hardship.

Weekly Care Package Distributions
A central part of the organization's outreach occurs every Tuesday morning in Baillie Park. During these sessions, the team distributes care packages specifically curated for unemployed individuals. Beyond the delivery of physical goods, OCSA Potch views these gatherings as an opportunity for social engagement, inviting the broader Potchefstroom community to participate in person. The initiative encourages residents to "make time for a chat," emphasizing that tangible community change involves both material support and human connection.

"Old Shoes Needed" and Clothing Drive
To support these outreach programs, the organization has launched a call for specific donations to assist those in need.
Key donation priorities include:
Footwear: A specific appeal for "old shoes" has been issued to provide basic protection and dignity to the displaced and impoverished.
Clothing: All varieties of clothing donations are welcomed to replenish the organization’s distribution stock.
Food: Strategic food sourcing remains a pillar of their operations to ensure the nutritional well-being of the community.

Project Nehemiah: A Holistic Approach
These donation drives and weekly outreaches are integrated into Project Nehemiah, a movement dedicated to "rebuilding the broken and fallen walls" of the community. The project operates on four main pillars:
Upliftment: Restoring hope and confidence through solidarity.
Job Creation: Fostering skills development and entrepreneurship to facilitate economic independence.
Development: Addressing holistic growth in education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Food Sourcing: Maintaining strategic partnerships and drives to alleviate hunger.
