Parents who are hearing the dreaded “I’m bored” on loop, and teenagers who have already scrolled through the entire internet twice, might want to take note. Romy’s Habby & Crafter Soul Studio is running a December holiday programme for teenagers, with hands on arts and crafts sessions most weekdays in the run up to Christmas.
It’s informal, practical and aimed at keeping creative hands busy at a time of year when screens usually win by default. Pre bookings are required, so no last minute “drop and dash” missions.
When and where
Sessions run from 15:00 to 17:00. The studio reminds attendees to bring their own snacks, because nothing says “holiday workshop” like trying to hot glue something while running on empty.
The programme takes place in Potchefstroom.
What’s on the calendar
Here’s the line up as advertised, with each session listing the project, duration and cost.
8 December 2025: Willow wreath or dream catcher, 2 hours, R200
9 December 2025: Sun catchers, beads and crystals, 2 hours, R220
10 December 2025: Button art, tree of life, 2 hours, R200
11 December 2025: Basic woodwork (10:00 to 12:00), 2 to 3 hours, R250
12 December 2025: Pinecone gnomes, 2 hours, R200
15 December 2025: Bag charms and keyrings, 2 hours, R200
17 December 2025: Basic woodwork (10:00 to 12:00), 2 to 3 hours, R250
18 December 2025: Personalise a journal, 2 hours, R200
19 December 2025: Dot art, coasters as gifts, 2 hours, R200
20 December 2025: Basic welding skills (09:00 to 11:00), 2 to 3 hours, R250
22 December 2025: Basic welding skills (10:00 to 12:00), 2 to 3 hours, R250
23 December 2025: Feather art, white charcoal on black paper, 2 hours, R200
24 December 2025: Funky paperclips, 2 hours, R200
Yes, that’s everything from dream catchers and sun catchers to pinecone gnomes and glass bottle lanterns. If a teenager comes home with a new journal, a welded masterpiece and possibly a small forest of gnomes, at least nobody can say they didn’t do something over the holidays.
Costs and booking details
Each session costs R200, except the sun catcher session at R220 and the woodwork and welding sessions at R250. There’s also a multi session option: three sessions for R500, which is handy for anyone looking to commit to a few afternoons of creative calm.
Bookings can be made via WhatsApp. Contact Dilyn on 083-571-3589 or Aldi on 083-381-6222. The studio’s Facebook page is listed as Crafter Soul Studio for anyone who prefers to do a bit of scrolling before deciding.
Pre bookings are required, so planning ahead is the move here.
