Klerksdorp is gearing up for a two-wheeled takeover this spring as the Crunch Time Cycle Race rolls into town on 1 November 2025. Presented by Pro-qube Productions, the event promises to draw cyclists of all kinds, from casual riders to those who think Lycra counts as formal wear.
What’s Happening
The race kicks off at KD Civils, Cnr Muranti and Buffeldoring Road, Plot JB1, Doringkruin, and offers four distances for riders to test their mettle (or just their fitness app’s battery life):
10 km Funride – for those who believe “slow and scenic” is a valid sport strategy.
27 km on-road – the warm-up for the ambitious.
46 km on-road – serious enough to make you rethink your carb intake.
77 km on/off-road – for riders who consider mud a badge of honour.
Registration and Pricing
It’s a proper community-style setup, no complicated forms or online queues. To register, just WhatsApp “cycle” to 076-643-3898 and the organisers will send you the registration documents.
Entry fees are straightforward:
R50 for 10 km
R100 for 27 km
R150 for 46 km
R180 for 77 km
Bring your gear, your bike, and perhaps your sense of humour for when your legs stop cooperating halfway through.
It’s less about the medals and more about the ride, though a bit of friendly competition never hurt anyone. So whether you’re in it for the exercise, the bragging rights, or just an excuse to spend the morning on a bike, the Crunch Time Cycle Race is shaping up to be the kind of event where everyone finishes with a story to tell.
